@SurferWife I'm flabbergasted that you, living in Hawaii, need a down comforter. They are far too warm for me in Albuquerque, although every winter night is well below freezing. I sleep with my window opened. I love my down blanket which is lighter weight.

I recommend Warm Things. They have a wide variety of down items at reasonable prices. Lots of comforters in different weights for different environments. I have a Northern Nights comforter but will go to Warm Things if/when I need to replace it.

@SurferWife I got mine at Company Store many years ago, and it's holding up well. That's where I would go when I need one again. I'm not sure which one it is though. They sell many. I can't tell from the tag on my comforter.

Northern Nights is great because of the Hyperclean process. There is one now on dot .com in many colors with a Black Friday sale.price.

I've had cheap and somewhat expensive comforters over the years. The best one I ever had is from LL Bean. It's lasted many years and I'll use it again this year.
I also have a down comforter from L.L. Bean. Couldn't tell you how many years ago we bought it. Still in great shape. And I am putting it back on my bed this year too.
@drizzellla How do you clean it and how often? Thanks! Inquiring mind wants to know! ![]()

@SurferWife - Ours is also from L.L. Bean.
I now take it to the dry cleaners each spring. I did try to handle it myself one year a long time ago. You can wash the one we have. I put it in dryer with a clean white sneaker (I have a brand new white one I use specifically for the dryer). Even with that it took forever to dry, and I determined I would take it in from then on! :smileyhappy

The comforter is between a light blanket and the bedspread. So I take it to the laundromat after we use it in winter. I figure that since there is a sheet and light blanket that it doesn't get dirty from us. And the bedspread helps keep the dust off.
And since I only use it during winter I figure how dirty could it get.
It washes nicely too. That is why I take to a lauderomat. They have large machines that can handle the bulk.

The newer NN are no longer hyperclean as they are now contracted with another vendor.
NN is a Q brand name.
Pacific Coast Feather still uses hyperclean which is washed X3.

LOL! I use one as a bedspread not an actual blanket. Going through menopause, a blanket is the last thing I need. I want it for looks & decor.
