About 6 years ago I bought carpet for the upstairs, where  the bedrooms are.  Highlt recommended local carpet store.  Paid a pretty penny.  Hasn't held up as well as I hoped.  When we remodeled the bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, I went with Home Depot.  A lot less money, nicer carpet and the installers were much better than the other place.  Wish I had used Home Depot upstairs.

I looked at our local Home Depot when I was wanting new carpeting--it was in 2017 and have to say, they were overly pricey for what I wanted. I ended up going with Empire Today--I got a beautiful, thick plush carpet that was pet  stain resistant for 1/2 price and no installation fee. Paid $3200 for the downstairs rooms, the stairs and the upstairs hallway. It was so nice. The now "ex" was pretty miffed--he would have settle for the cheapest carpet he could find---
