Re: Never did ""get"" this look

But this is what I don't understand. Why do you want to have your guests staring into your bathtub like it's a window. What is there to look at? I would rather see a pretty shower curtain drawn closed then stare into someone's tub.

Working with people that stage homes, I would say because it opens up the bathroom space and makes it look larger, like you said, looking out a window. Sounds like it's mostly a guest bath and the bath tub/shower doesn't get used much, so it's for pure decoration. Besides, if the curtains were closed, wouldn't you wonder if someone was lurking in there? *cue the creepy Psycho music* Smile

Do they still make those sorts of shower curtains? It sounds very outdated

Re: Never did ""get"" this look

If your house is on the market....you "may" want to do some updates in decorating styles, but if a homeowner has no plans to sell, and are happy with their own style....what does it matter what anyone else thinks? The shower curtain style is what is pleasing to the people who live in the house.

{#emotions_dlg.w00t} I used to have that kind of shower curtain that you are talking about! It does look like looking into a window to me. I always thought it was so cute, but now I moved on to a shower door.

Re: Never did ""get"" this look

I just copied this for our upstairs bathroom from a picture I found on Pinterest. The only thing I did differently was having clear glass frame-less shower door and there is a window above the tile in the tub. Sorry to brag, but I think it's stunning!

Re: Never did ""get"" this look

My guest bath is a full bath with a tub. I found a gorgeous pinstripe material with thin stripes of deep gold, deep red, black and cream. found a coordinating floral fabric with s floral print with the same colors. had a custom shower curtain made that goes 9 feet ceiling to floor with the floral valance over it that is 18 inches long. However, I keep it closed so that my shower curtain and valence are really shown. Wallpaper is the dark red with a subtle gold fleur de lys pattern. My tub is never used so it is in mint condition but I still don't like the idea of guests peeking into it.

I had those curtains in a home I had about 20 years ago.

I figure looking at my tub is no different than looking at and using my toilet!

I think this is STUNNING! I have the same look. It looks finished to me. It looks luxurious. But as others said that is why there are different looks for everyone's taste.
