Need to vent about new job responsibility: constant changing of TP!!!

The paper products companies must think the buying public is really stupid: there are so many varieties of toilet paper for each brand. Yet, regardless of the varieties, a roll "evaporates" much quicker than in the past. It's most annoying and would be better to raise the price and keep a decent quantity on the roll. Too, just how feather soft is necessary ??? Perhaps, they could cut down the choices and save valuable resources. Just had to put this in writing. Am I the only one who is annoyed with the situation??

In a two person household, it isn't a big problem, but if someone was replacing tp for a family of six, they would need to buy those big triple rolls.

Just installed one of the triple rolls and found that the roll is so loosely wound that it skews off the roll as you pull off a few sheets. The roll "looks" large but in effect is loosely wound on the roll. Thus, it easily skews off its roll.

Are you really as upset as you seem, OP? You got a job at a toilet paper factory? ... or you are a janitor? .... or you are mad about something I can't nail down.

Here's what I can share on the subject. TP comes in 1, 2 and 3 ply sheets. The 1 ply has more sheets on a roll than the 3 ply. The rolls can only be so thick because of the space available in the toilet paper holder.

The real variable here is how many sheets per roll. For example, one brand has had 176 2 ply sheets in the 12 roll package ..... but they have a "jumbo package" of 18 rolls that has only 136 sheets per roll .... this one seems to be the one that goes on sale at drug stores all the time. I don't know if this helps any, but my parting thought is when you have a brand you really like, buy it every time it's on sale, even if you aren't running low. ${#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}$

I think Safeway has something like 4 or 5 different store brands of TP. Why?! One or two choices would be sufficient.

I hadn't noticed until someone here mentioned it recently that the rolls are narrower than they used to be. I used to have trouble getting a finger between the roll and the holder. Now there is a good inch of space.

Tinkrbl44, just got annoyed with the situation I find deceptive. I do the math and stock up on my favorite brand when on sale. I'm sure you've noticed how packaging changes but price stays the same, e.g., new 4lb. Bag of sugar that used to be 5lbs; ounces of coffee; ounces of crackers, etc.
