I have searched and read a lot of reviews but still confused about robot vacuum cleaner. A friend cleans my house weekly and DH normally vacuums for me when ever I spill something but he had shoulder surgery two weeks ago. We don't use items like Echo or anything else but I have a smart phone and IPad.I need something good but not expensive and hopefully under $200 or less. So many robot vacuum cleaners and brand names not familiar with. Your suggestions and personal use of this type product greatly needed and appreciated.

@SouthernBee I'm wth you. It is confusing. Hope we get some good suggestions. There does seem to be more choices and better prices now and not just the Roomba.

We purchased the iRobot from QVC earlier this year. We are able to use an app to start the robot but often my husband has issues getting it connected (that may just be him). You can also simply press the start button on top - even my dogs have accidentally started it. I have found that it is VERY loud. I see why they recommend running it when you are not home.

I have the Shark ION RV750_N which is a few years old but I love it. It's the older bump technology and isn't self-emptying, but I run "Hazel" almost every day and enjoy the convenience. It has Wi-Fi connectivity so I can program it from my phone OR just press the button manually to start cleaning. It's not whisper quiet but it's not intrusive. The app has been flaky at times but Shark keeps upgrading it.

I highly recommend Shark! I am on my second Shark robot now that I purchased at Walmart for a little under $200. I have the Shark app linked to my phone and you can schedule the days and times that you want it to vacuum. I'm disabled and it's definately a big help, it even vacuums under my couch and the beds.It usually runs for an hour and thirty five minutes to do the whole house.

@kaydee50 : Thank you. Plus doing research for a lift recliner for me and a power recliner for DH.

@mjabby : Totally agree and understand because I am disabled and needing more medical toys. I have a $50 Amazon gift card that I wanted to use on the purchase. If it isn't too much trouble could you give me more information on the model that you purchased? I am also researching whole house warranty because had to replace my refrigerator ice maker last week it was expensive because the warranty had expired on my 5 year old refrigerator . My head is spinning and I need any help available for all my necessities.

@SouthernBee I know nothing about robot vacuums, but I have had a negative experience with a lift chair. I purchased one from the medical supply store where I bought my new mobility scooter. After I sit in it for a while, it kills my back. My husband has tried it, and he has problems with it, too.
I would recommend trying several at different places before purchasing. I wish I had gone to the LaZBoy store before my purchase. I would ask about returns if there is a problem with comfort. The lift is really helpful if you get the comfort you need.
