I have made a list also.  Love percale and it is so hard to find.  DH will not sleep on anything but 100 percent cotton so microfiber is out for us.

IMO, VCS percale sheets aren't rough.I like them very much.

A few months ago I ordered a set of percale sheets from LLBean.  They are cool, crisp, and very comfortable.  But they are also costly.  But it was worth it for me.

I bought some microfiber sheets from HSN. they are fabulous. soft and very cool for summer. conceirge i think is the name. getting another pair. as well.

Vermont Country catalog or online store have real percale.  They are expensive, but I'm with you about real percale.  They last & last.
