The dark is so rich looking, and you are right, it is very compatible with your countertops.

I really like the darker color.  It matches your counter nicely.  I think it's a richer look.

Been in this house since 2010 when we moved to Tx

All 3 bathrooms are golden oak, too ! They're fading too

Probably have to do those too, eventually !

Find me dead with varnish brush in my hand

The only problem I see is that I think you need a few more appliances. . . Woman SurprisedWoman LOL

Did you ever think about painting them a pretty light gray?  Just to further confuse the issue of course. . .

LOL big long line of cabinets haven't faded as bad as the ones by the sink, but, the ones by the stove I just did this yr. with the fresh coat of golden oak shade have some streaking too and they're not around water.

I don't understand where the  white streaks are coming from

Hubbo said he bets the contractor used pine cabinets and stained them oak

(we stayed in Ind while house was being built why I couldn't control the job)

Now, I got the whole kitchen to re do and I guess I can go over the golden oak in the 3 baths (2 1/2, really) think I'll paint them golden oak just go over them.
