Re: Need help with mattress topper, sheets, blankets

and if you MUST- then buy sleeping bags for the kids- not air  mattresses that you'll never use again and will have to store. (if you can even GET them back in the box! Smiley Happy

Kohls has microfiber sheets all sizes $14.99. A steal for that price and the few times you will use them. They are called Home Classics Microfiber Sheets. They are 4.3 stars and 705 reviews. The sides and ends of the fitted sheets are labeled and the elastic goes all the way around. Perfect for a sleeper sofa and air mattresses where sheets can move.

Thanks to this discussion I have now bought 3 more sheet sets at Kohls. Cuddle Duds fleece sheet set, Cuddle Duds flannel sheet set, and Sonoma sheet set plus two bath robes, one flannel and one chenille. Oh the enablers here!

It will be fun to have them at the house so skip any hotel thoughts. I think the kids can get by with sleeping bags. I loved occasions when I could sleep in mine. Look for clearance deals on toppers and blankets. Even cheap pillows will do for a short visit, as long as everything is clean.

Re: Need help with mattress topper, sheets, blankets

I hope everyone had a very happy and safe Thanksgiving. I cooked my meal on Wednesday and on Thursday had 9 friends from Alabama for wonderful day of laughter and fellowship. Not able to start on line shopping until after 5 pm. On line shopping made me dizzy 😵. I had created shopping carts for Walmart, JCP, Kohl’s and Macy’s. Frustrated trying to get everything and items sold out fast. The best deals  for me were Macy’s with free shipping and saved over $35 compared to others. But based on product available surprised that Macy’s was the one. Berkshire blankets all sizes were $14.99. Twin sheet sets were $5.99 and full size were $15.99. Therefore will have items needed for Christmas visitors and for the spring visitors. Decided to wait and purchase cheap pillows at Walmart.

I really appreciate everyone taking the time to help and especially giving detailed information on several items. Last night several places already advertised about cyber Monday deals but how will they have any thing to sell since so much had already sold out!😲 Southern Bee

Re: Need help with mattress topper, sheets, blankets

@sipp: The air beds that I reviewed were highly rated for being comfortable, quick to set up and easy to fold up and put back into the provided tote bag.  I was taking in to consideration the  December visitors and the spring visitors that could not use the sleeping bags.Had two young visitors yesterday ages 7 and 11. We discussed sleeping options and they preferred the air beds. We put the couch cushions on the floor to see if that could work but they were to short. Years ago had one air bed and it was difficult to get back in the zippered case  but also a totally different product than what is now available . Southern Bee

Re: Need help with mattress topper, sheets, blankets

Our grandkids no longer enjoy sleeping bags. Sometimes families are not told what other family members are dealing with. DH daughter had several months where they only had sleeping bags to sleep in and on a hard floor. Of course when we became aware of the dire situation the problem was corrected and family provided for.

I appreciated everyone information that helped me decide what type of sheets and blankets to purchase. With suggestions provided also found gift sets that included a cute throw with color coordinated socks that will be purchased for family to use and take home. Plus I will feel better having the extra bedding on hand if we have another emergency and knowing the benefits of great sales without having to pay regular price. Southern Bee

@sipp:  Southern Bee was the original OP and responded to all the suggestions.  Ultimately, she had to decide what was best for her and the situation she is facing.
