I love a shade of blue --- from teal to royal blue.
Dark brown wood needs a COLOR to brighten up the house.
google shades of blue on-line -- many choices.

If I were living in the house, I'd go with teal, but for selling your place, probably tan. New owners will change it to their liking anyway.

I had a beautiful house with the most gorgeous curb appeal but I had a colonial blue door. My house was a very, very light peach color. No shutters, lots of glass and a herringbone brick driveway and porch with European columns on the porch, beautiful door with a brass kick plate and door knocker with big bold brass handle. Never sold for weeks on end. People came and looked. I did two things. I painted the fireplace (which was brick) with a dry brush effect (which made it look the color of the exterior paint), I painted the door a true coral color. The house sold within 10 days.

It will sell with or without painting the door. However, we do want to present it in its best light. It's a small amount of effort to show the home has been cared for and well-maintained. Changed my mind and will go with a shade of turquoise.
Thanks to everyone who commented and gave an opinion! I do appreciate it! It gave me lots of ideas to consider!
