Can anyone recommend a reliable website to purchase a couple of area rug's? Am looking to refresh the house for the new year. Have ordered from Overstock in the past, but the photo's on the website are so unreliable as the color's are usually way off. Any advice? Thanks!!

You best bet is Lowes or Home Depot so you can bring them home. You can also check JC Penny online.

I second checking JCPenny. I haven't bought from them in years, but they always had a variety of area rugs with large selection of color and sizes. Also Kohl's has areas rugs, in store and online. Not as large a selection but they're a good price if you have a 30% off coupon.

I've bought from both Rugs Direct and The Home Decorator's Collection and have been very pleased with both. Don't forget to order the appropriate pad for your rug. Makes a world of difference.

I agree with the poster about Lowe's and Home Depot, but I've had very good luck and been extremely pleased with the ones I've ordered from the Royal Palace designs. They last forever.

I recommend Pottery Barn. They offer high quality rugs (many of which are wool but you can also get natural fiber rugs) at great prices and they last a long time. You can also check for sales as there may be some on sale now. I have purchased fabulous area rugs for my guest bedroom, den and kitchen all from Pottery Barn. I also have them in my vacation house. I have looked all over including Costco, Lowes, Home Depot etc and nothing they offer can compare to Pottery Barns merchandise.

I like Catalina Rugs in California. When you want something special, and can spend $$. You may want to look at Frontgate online.

Re: Need advice on area rugs

In the past two months I have ordered from WALMART.COM and both the rugs I rec'd are perfect, in fact, they came from Wayfair and Mohawk rugs. Both these rugs (1-5x7 country french floral was $390 on Wayfair at Wal-Mart $99. / the other was a round 7' braided style - Wayfair was $399.00 and Walmart was $129.)

Both these rugs came quickly and perfect!!! I just ordered a 10x8 rug for my dining room which I saw on another site for over $500 and the one I'm ordering is basically the same type (I missed the OTO from Royal Palace when offered last week) and this one is $209.

Best part - shipped for FREE right to my house, I rec'd them w/in a week.

You might want to check it out as they have pages and pages of area rugs. Hopefully you'll find something there.

I agree. For the money, these are really very good rugs. Both I and several folks I know have been well satisfied with rugs from Royal Palace.

I agree totally! I have purchased Royal Palace rugs that still look new after a decade of heavy use. It depends on your budget, but I think they are so well worth the money.

I've noticed over they years that they are bringing more fresh and modern designs, so if you can find something in the style and color you like, I just don't think you can go wrong with Royal Palace.
