Need advice about Ecoflow purchase

A few days ago, I bought the Ecoflow Delta 3 Classic power station from HSN, and now I think I'm going to need to return it. I've already talked to HSN, and everything is set in motion to do so once I receive it. However, if I'm wrong about how it will perform, I may change my mind. That's why I'm coming on here--to see if I can get a clearer explanation about how this particular model will work.

I called Ecoflow because I had some questions about how to use the solar panel, and during our conversation, discovered that this power station will only power a full-size fridge a maximum of 8-9 hours (it has 1024 Wh). During the presentation on HSN, the vendor stated that it would power a full-size fridge for 16 hours. Also, in the written description on HSN under Features, it states that it will power a fridge (doesn't say full size, just has 40 watts in parentheses) for up to 12 hours 59 minutes. I don't know what to believe now (I'm ignoring what HSN has about the 40 watt one). Will it run for just 8-9 hours or 16?

I've tried to Google how long it will run with my particular fridge, but I'm kind of confused about how one determines this. Guess I'm just dumb on things like this. I know you're supposed to check your fridge's amps and voltage, but for some reason, I'm really having trouble with reading this on the label. The fridge I have is the Whirlpool WRS315SNHM. Could someone help me determine the correct run time this power station will give me for my fridge, because if it will actually run for 16 hours, I might go ahead and keep it. Thanks.

I would go by what Ecoflow stated.

ETA-

Your model of frig uses 500 to 800 watts while running. That is a heavy load for such a small generator. I would be surprised if it would last a few hours. No way 16 hours!

I found this info on Ecoflow's website:

  • A 500Wh power station can run a 100W fridge for about 4 to 5 hours
  • A 1000Wh station can power the same fridge for about 8 to 10 hours

But if your fridge uses more power — say 500W — then even a 1000Wh station may only last 1.5 to 2 hours

Be aware that the prediction for hours is usually dependent on the door never being opened.  So this will only work for a spare refrig.

If you asked me, those type of generators are good for camping and for RVs. Solar power will get you only so far plus if the sun isn't shining then you're out of power. I would much rather prefer a larger wattage generator like you get with a gasoline or a propane model for home use. Gas stations are just down the street in most places.

Re: Need advice about Ecoflow purchase

I have an ECOflow Delta 2/1800 watts power station----last year, where I am, near Seattle--there was a bomb cyclone that happened a week before Thanksgiving. Had no power for almost 3 days and had to toss the food from my refer--prob around $300+--and I just went shopping for t-day dinner. I bought mine afterwards--from AMZ on a Black Friday sale. Mine is able to power my small refer---it has 15 outlets too. However and thankfully I haven't had to use it for that--, isn't that always the way, but I do remember hearing someone say that your refer powers on and off to maintain the temp.It is not constanting running. And of course if you open and close the door you are letting that cold air out. Also it came with the solar panels and even tho there is no sun at times, there is solar energy  being let into the atmosphere so the panels will charge just maybe at a slower rate. I used it once on a small dorm sized refer during a little power burp----worked great--left my big refer alone so not to lose any of the cold---I charged it up once--and as of today it still has 97% power. I do have super duper extension cords too--I think that  is smart to power the big things safely. I am confident it will come in handy.

Thanks everyone for responding. I can't believe the different info I'm getting online about how long this power station will keep a full-size fridge running. As I previously stated, HSN vendor stated 16 hours, at a minimum, for a full-size (he didn't bother to say under what conditions one could achieve that many hours). Ecoflow said a maximum of 8-9 hours. And, finally, I saw this on sale on Ama., and in the pictures on there, saw 7-14 hours for a 120 W fridge with full loads. Because of the uncertainty, I'm going ahead with the arrangements I made with HSN and have it returned. Guess I should have known better to order a less powerful power station, but I foolishly believed it when he said 16 hours.

@qualityshopper

The fridge you have is large and takes 600 to 800 watts to run. I googled the model number you posted to find the wattage.  A compact fridge is 120 watt and that's a huge difference from your fridge.

Re: Need advice about Ecoflow purchase

@SilleeMee -- Thanks for the info. I'll never understand why the vendor on HSN would claim that it could handle a full-size fridge for 16 hours at a minumum (I'm quoting him). Obviously, this item's capabilities were misrepresented. Fortunately, HSN is going to arrange for FedEx to pick it up and will not be charging me any shipping fees.
