We have a home that is 42 years old. The front of the home is red brick. Over the years somehow (not since we've owned it) there have been splotches of white paint on the brick. It bugged me, so I asked my husband to get the paint off. Well, he tried several ideas and ended up making a huge mess of it. Now the brick has giant white spots all over it from his trying to rub off the paint. It almost looks like the brick has a "disease". I have looked around and there really isn't much hope for getting the smeared paint off the brick.
Has anyone ever painted brick individually? And I don't mean paint the brick and mortar. UI am thinking about buying some paint that will adhere to brick and maybe sponging it on the bricks.
Every time I look at the front of my house it makes me ill.
HELP!!!!
