As good as these ideas are I think it's a lost cause. The cops already spoke to the single mother about the noise. Guess what? It still continues and I bet she was asleep when the cop pulled him over. I bet the kid is a drug peddler as well and he even got a po box. That's just the eldest. There are two more boys causing trouble.

Re: Need Help Neighbor Kids Vandalism

pay someone a small fee to get into the car and sleep .When it starts spray the criminal with BLEACH and That old Aqua Netting hairspray. It blinded Eddie for about 3 months. As the sting sets in you have to tie them up and deal with the issue and when you see the fear of God has hit them and only then call the police. Bleach, Aqua Net AND NAIL POLISH REMOVER.

You must just get mad. A camera will only incriminate you , and cause the police to drag you into this mess.

I hear ya. My neighborhood seems to be on the bad end of "transitioning" lately, but I'm stuck here because my house has lost almost half it's value since the market bottomed out.

I don't know where you live in Florida but my home in Sarasota Co. has gone UP about $40,000 since we bought it 4 years ago. Several folks here who bought for an investment are selling so I am able to keep up with the current prices.

Re: Need Help Neighbor Kids Vandalism

I live very rural, in southern WV. My property is posted with No Trespassing and Private Property signs; I even have the signs displayed in several of my windows, clearly warning any unwelcome visitors of my intent to protect my property. I have an alarm system and display a sign advising of such. I also have a hunter cam set up in the woods behind my house that takes pictures of any movement in my backyard---all thanks to the persons who came thru the woods 7 years ago, busted out a back window and stole thousands of dollars worth of items from my family. Therefore, any person who comes on my property has been warned. I have the right to protect myself, my family and my property, and feel I am well prepared to do so with a 12 gauge shotgun and a Glock 40, and that doesn't count the weapons the rest of the family owns. In this area, people clearly understand the implications of No Trespassing and Private Property signs. Best wishes to you with getting the message across to your neighbors that you intend to protect your property.

I am so saddened to hear of all of these stories. Life sure is not like it was and its an all about me world we live in. I talked to a neighbor about it and she made the remark well it's across the street.

I live in rural north FL. Our property values don't get the same push from Snowbirds, who flock to the more southern and coastal areas of FL (such as Sarasota).

How about a Motion Sensor Light? As soon as they step within the sensor the Flood Light goes on!!! They will think someone turned the light on. We installed one in a light already on the garage, it is a double light one points down the driveway the other into the back yard.

Susan Louise,

I don't know how you live with that stress. I know that I would sell that house so fast and move it would not be funny. I'm too old for that kind of stress and so is my husband.

It makes me sad to hear that you are having to live like that.

Retired08, Bless your heart...*Hugs*

Well, I guess you can say we've gone through it all.

Even with security cameras, nothing could be done when they stole our Christmas decorations since the kids wore hooded sweatshirts and there was no way for the police to ID them. The police were surprised they came back the very next night though!

The only thing that kept my sanity through it all was that I knew SOMEDAY, they will get caught...either it will be as a juvies, or an adults.
