Re: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA HOUSE BUILT IN 1906

So many couches, fireplaces. My head is spinning. (but I love the powder room-and the dog).

@Citrine1

That's exactly how I feel about it.

It's a very curious design of a home and seems to actually have a lot of light.

However, the inside decor and furnishings is just, difficult, for me to enjoy or understand.

Too many mixed styles and colors.  Each photo seems to get worse.   That kitchen, althought huge,  seems very awkward and I just hate those counter stools..

Re: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA HOUSE BUILT IN 1906

I agree with most of the others....while the exterior is absolutely beautiful, the interior design is just not for me.  It appears to be an eclectic mix of a lot of Contemporary/modern with traditional and beyond.  Even though I tend to lean heavily toward contemporary or modern furniture, her choices are just too much for even me.

For the most part, even though nothing clashes in each of the individual rooms, there is just not a good flow between colors and decor styles and the pieces just really don't compliment each other.

As always, thanks Oznell!!

I don't know why, but something about the outside creeps me out. (shudder) Maybe a house in a movie when I was a kid or something. I'll never know.

I like it, but I know what you mean.  Something ominous about it.

@Oznell There's so much to like here the structure is amazing and in my wildest dreams I would live in a stone castle!

The plantings and trees are lovely, although I would want my castle to be more remote surrounded by many acres....I'm dreaming here. haha

I love the mouldings and ceilings and the feminine color pallet.

Although, I'm not a fan of that style of furniture I think she did it well.

In my castle I would opt more for my "Vampire Chic" decor that I love so much, I think it would fit in well here.

I love the islands and bold columns in the kitchen. Her big leafy arrangements are nice.

That blue bedroom is lovely and I love, love the bathroom!

I love the beautiful wallpaper and aged gold mirror and faucet, the marble sink could grow on me.

I just love going all out in powder rooms since there's not many opportunities for accessorizing and you don't have to worry too much about how it flows with other rooms since it's closed off. So that's where you can have fun and play with bold wallpaper, etc and create a little jewel box of a room that's fun to be in.

Thanks for another Lovely!!!

Oooh Ominous, maybe I shouldn't like it because that word and the feeling is supposed to be a bad thing and has negative connotations but for some reason there's just something about a "Spooky, Ominous" looking house that I've always been drawn to. It seems so cozy and befitting my, what I call, "Vampire Chic" style.

Maybe I was a Vampire in another life....I also hate the sun.

More exceptional pictures @Oznell thank you!

Love the beautiful merle, the cat, bunny (which I couldn't find), those fabulous pink mohair couches and white chairs with the pink pillows. Many other lovely elements to the house and although not everything is something I like, it is well done and put together.

Re: NORTHERN CALIFORNIA HOUSE BUILT IN 1906

@GingerHead   I'm ALL ABOUT vampires!!  For the longest time, my favorite show was True Blood.  I also loved Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire.

I wouldn't say I "hate" the sun, but I certainly enjoy an overcast, even gloomy, day.  Now that I think about it, I believe you and I have discussed this before.  Not the vampire part, but the weather.  There's something about a cloudy day that speaks to me.
