I love the decor in every picture you posted.  Thank you so much for sharing them.  I'll have to check out her blog.

Re: NORTH GEORGIA HOUSE WELCOMES CHRISTMAS

I don't care for the way the house is decorated.  Too much white, too bland.  Take away the seasonal red and green touch and it's as sterile as an operating room.  those ribbons on the stair banister need to be RED.

@Oznell  I love the fireplace and tree! The red and cream colors go so beautifully with the greens. The long tails on the bows give a finished look. Also, not a fan of the stockings. Oh, well.

Re: NORTH GEORGIA HOUSE WELCOMES CHRISTMAS

The only decor I like are the paintings, especially the one with the three Christmas shaped trees and snow,, the frame is beautiful.  While there are a few vignettes that appeal, in general I do not care for the stark look . It isn't a warm and inviting look for me.

Re: NORTH GEORGIA HOUSE WELCOMES CHRISTMAS

I agree with @Kachina624  the only thing that makes it look like Christmas is the Christmas tree and red accents in the livingroom.  Otherwise this house is much too bland for me.  I need color around me.

What did get my attention was the way the bookcase is arranged    I am going to rearrange my bookcase.

I will say it is tastefully done for those who prefer less color in their style.

Forgot to say that she gave her living room paint colors.  I love when they do that!  Walls are "Simply White" by Benjamin Moore, and fireplace surround is in creamy "Navajo White" by B. Moore.

@Oznell Navajo white was a color way back when.  Can't remember the brand, but mother made me paint the den in that color during summers about every other year.  She worked and it kept me busy--along with laundry, feeding animals and cooking!

Too monochromatically dull for my taste, but very pretty and serene nevertheless.

Re: NORTH GEORGIA HOUSE WELCOMES CHRISTMAS

I really like the Christmas decor throughout the house but everything else is just not my style and the lack of color throughout gives off a cold and unwelcoming feeling.

This is a house I would love to see on a Holiday Tour.

There is a lot going on for everyday life but I bet it's fantastic in person.

I love the colors used..so serene and peaceful.

Re: NORTH GEORGIA HOUSE WELCOMES CHRISTMAS

Wow, that really interests me that some posters find her house drab or colorless--  that never occured to me.  I guess her accenting of her neutrals with sparks of color ( red and green at Christmas), but bits of blue and green year round, and loads of texture and burnished old wood, plus the paintings--  keeps it all lively for me.

But the nay-sayers are equally valid in their reactions-- it just goes to show the variety of preferences we have here.

I'm one of the few who is weirdly attracted to neutrals just as much as color ( and I LOVE soft color).  It's one of the few areas where I love both equally, and don't have a strong preference one over the other.  Oh, there is an exception--  I don't like rooms aggressively decorated in bright, saturated primary colors, as a rule.

I even like that she did her family room in what she calls "dusty black".   It's "Carbonized" by Sherwin-Williams, with "Simply White" again on shelves and trim.

And she interestingly accented in here with tones of brown and tawny shades-- in the pillows, liberal use of wicker and rattan, including lampshade, the rug...

Even her little porcelain dish...family-room-tour-6.jpg

And she uses brass here and there, for a subdued sparkle.
