Re: NM Living Room- Tranquil or a Case of the Blues?

I think a patterned rug with  navy and other blues would have tied the drapes and chair into the space.....nice though!

I think since the pic is about advertising for the furniture, that's probably why the decorations and rug are kept at minimal visual.

Blues are definitely coming back more. I like the horse painting. Not what I would probably buy but it fits nicely in the room that lilakimono posted.

I posted a photo of what I did in my kitchen today over my sink. One coat and it looks great to me. Painted right over wallpaper with Valspar Reserve Ice Sculpture paint. I posted a photo in the next post.

I love the horse.  In fact, it's the only thing I do like.  I have two horse pictures in my living room plus a horse head sculpture.  I've had a lifetime love affair with horses.

Re: NM Living Room- Tranquil or a Case of the Blues?

I love blue in home decor.  My main bathroom has been blue for almost 44 years no matter where we have lived.

I like the blue color in the room posted, but the room is boring,   I like a main neutral color and two accent colors in my rooms.  That room only has one accent color, which is blue.  Also, everything is a solid color.  That rug does nothing for the room and the pillows are boring too.

The upholstered furniture and drapes are nice, everything else must go.

Love the room decor and the colors......hate the horse picture.

Uh boy, I don't like anything in that room except maybe the coffee table--which reminds me of a mirrored dresser we have under the TV.

Couch not comfy looking at all, more for a waiting room.

Blue curtains too stark looking for those gorgeous windows.

Silver table looks like clearance item from Marshall's.

Blue chair for bored husbands waiting outside dressing room.

Rug---just wrong for that room.

But thanks for these pics Lola!

Eh... Another nothing special sort of exercise in the bland... I'm neutral on the horse... but not a big fan of blue used extensively in decorating. I enjoy it as an accent, such as with blue and white porcelains, a piece of art, throw pillows or something like that...

The room desperately needs some pattern and a shot of an accent color.  Too bland.
