NEW YORK CONDO, FLATIRON DISTRICT

It was the bright kitchen that drew me in.  Then I stayed to look at the light-filled, comfortable but luxurious eclectic vibe that designer Robert Passal creates.

White-o-phobes will not like all the off-white in the space.  Some day I'll post one of his luxuriant color interiors-- he's versatile with both neutrals and color.  These clients wanted neutral.

The cabinet wood is yummy -- it's bleached walnut.  He described the counter chairs as "pistachio".   The appliances are Gaggenau.

He's the master of detail, like that Art Deco lamp appropriately next to the NY cityscape filling the window.

In fact, there are urbane little Art Deco touches throughout, like in this sculpture, the scrumptious fluted wall, round mirror.

More fluting in that massive pillar.  The entry opens to this large space-- since it's a pied-a-terre, there aren't a whole lot of rooms.  Dining takes place at the island counter, and for formality, at the round library table in living room that when cleared, seats at least 6.

One thing I like about Robert Passal, is his feeling for accessories.  This textured vessel brings just the right punch, and feeling of "age"...

The mirror IS a mirror.   But it's also a TV.   In the video, he showed it switched to TV mode.  I've seen art works do that, but not a mirror before.  To me, that's such a clever "2 -for-one" use--  love that.

Love the softness the colorful screen brings.  The couple wanted different things out of the space.  The wife, wanted it pretty, but not too 'fru-fru'.  A reader, she wanted lots of comfy places to read.   I like the combination of Roman shade with curtains--  more softness.

....The husband wanted to be able to watch sports, and to work from home.  Thus, this cozy media room,  washed in a soothing milk chocolate shade.

I ADORE this alabaster globe light--  that says 'old school New York' to me, max!   Isn't the photo on wall one of Mia and Frank, perhaps attending Truman Capote's famous black-and-white ball in the 60's?   If you know differently, do tell!

Pretty guest room.

The master bedroom seems like a real refuge to me, and I'm always happy with a palette in the blush tones-- my comfort zone.

It sure is one of the most spacious so-called pied-a-terres I've ever seen!   The video tour, which Robert Passal leads himself, is so informative and you get a much better look at everything.  He's an excellent guide.  I'll put the link in a post below this one.

@Oznell I love the sleek bright kitchen too.  I can't say everything is my style, but overall I like it. The entire space has an Art Deco look and feel. I like the mixture of smooth, texture and shape.

I like most of this condo.  Could do without the wallpaper and drapes but otherwise I could live there!!!

I like most of the interior other than the master.  The tv mirror seems like it should be turned so it's wider than it's tall. 🤷‍♀️

Would only change one thing--location!  I'm not sure I'd be happy in NYC.

@Oznell , I love it.  I am ready to move right in.  The only thing I would change is the Roman shades.  My two favorite Pieces are the panel screen and that gorgeous globe light fixture.  DH would not last a minute but this is right up my alley!  Thanks for posting.  LM

@Oznell We would love to live in NYC although I probably think we are too old. I would gladly move into this condo in a New York minute. I could feel right at home.

Re: NEW YORK CONDO, FLATIRON DISTRICT

As I have mentioned before I dreamed of living in a Village brownstone since I was much younger.  However, this area would be just as nice and I do like the design of this condo. There are many elements which are appealing and I do love all the space and the way the rooms are decorated and furniture placed. Very appealing place!
