@Oznell It's all very tempting, but I've been trying to use self control since I moved East in 2022.

Yes! I was at Home Goods within the last two weeks. I am trying to be very judicious about what I bring into my home as I have the moving bug, but I went there for a specific reason. I know I bought something because I didn't have their credit card in my wallet. I am looking around and I cannot for the life of me remember what I purchased.🥴
The store was so packed with merchandise I was in awe. It was almost hard to get through the aisles. I have not seen the store like this since pre-covid.
The tea sets you posted are very nice! Do you have a collection?

I recently ventured into Home Goods after a 2-year moratorium on shopping there. I needed a few things for my guest bedroom and I found everything I needed plus a couple of bonus buys for my office, a pretty lamp on sale and a floral trash can.
While the items you showed are lovely @Oznell, I have on need for teaware, so I can resist those sets. I noticed that my store no longer had the more recognizable brands they used to carry like Lenox. They did have a large selection of Spode's Botanic Garden pattern.
Luckily for my wallet, there aren't any HG stores in my normal errand path. I have to make a special effort to visit one.

Oh, boy-- I'm right on board with everyone who says they get tempted, but of necessity must resist! Such stores have to remain mostly a very fun spectator sport.
For us home ware nerds, it's kind of like going to a fashion show-- you are dazzled, you pick up ideas and see what's out there, but in the end, you are better off just enjoying the sights. Especially if storage is an issue.
@JeanLouiseFinch , I hear you about lead in dinnerware. Even many of the great old English companies, Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, on and on, have had lead found in various items. Bummer! I have a home testing kit, which is a good idea, but not fool-proof.
To answer your question, @magicmoodz , I don't have any collections of table ware, per se. I have one set of good china, an old discontinued set made by Wedgwood. It doesn't have any soup bowls, so I have a supplementary set of plain, gold rimmed china that coordinates with it.
Have four Fitz and Floyd calla lily salad plates. Otherwise, it's good ol' Corelle Winter Frost White for 'every day'!
I do still have a few collections of decor type things, that I started in my 20's-- Wedgwood jasperware, pewter, milk glass, blue and white jars. But they are mostly tiny collections, have been "purged" of extraneous pieces, and are strictly policed!
I still occasionally pick up vintage milk glass in antique stores, to fill out the gaps in my small collection. I like that you can use them for candy jars, and lots of other uses, as well as being so fresh-looking.
If anyone likes videos about china and dinnerware: "Kiki Meets World" is fun to google. She's a very young woman who loves beautiful china, and has started awesome collections that she's rapidly building on...

I have to stop myself from going to Home Goods.
I still have 2 Polish Stoneware serving dishes that I bought about 20 years ago..use them so often and countless other pieces that I love.

I agree, I have just realized why so much space in Walmart is taken up by disposable plastic plates and bowls and plastic utensils.
I always thought that stuff was just for picnics or barbeques, but you're right - this is how a generation is growing up eating off of disposable plates all the time. And likely, eating only microwave or delivery meals.
I admit to not using nice china every day but it never occured to me to just switch to disposables and never actually wash any dishes, utensils, or pots.

@Oznell I love the black and white (stripes and dots) dinnerware....so adorable.
I love Home Goods...my husband refers to it as my home away from home. Ha! ![]()

I have a vivid imagination, or better said, I always formulate a picture in my mind. As you have discussed your home decor over the years, I imagine you to have a wide array of eclectic decor (said in the most positive way).
I am always drawn to someone's home that offers a lot of different types of decor, when I can discover something new every time I visit. That is how I have imagined your home.

Hey, thanks, kind @magicmoodz . Your visual imagination serves you well. I am drawn to eclecticism, since there are a fair number of different looks, from different eras, that appeal to me. Too many, so I do have to edit!
