Re: My lanterns have arrived

I like the bronze in your photos better than I did on the Q presentations. I can see why they sold out

@Quse

I think they do look better in person that they did on the presentations too.

Sometimes even with the magic of today's HD tv and all the great technology, things look different in person than even Q can show us.

I was surprised that my ivory one wasn't as shiny as I expected it to be. I thought the red and black were way to shiny for they design of the lantern. To me, they are of a design to look older, and that shine just doesn't cut it for me.

The bronze does have a nice matte finish and the two tone gives it much more elegance.

I originally ordered all red. Then I started looking around and thought "that's a lot of red". So I bought 2 red, 2 ivory. At first, I thought the red were too shiny, when I pulled them out, but I like them in the area I bought them for. I contemplated bronze, but have too much brown already in that space, so the red offsets nicely. And it's a little darker there, so the shiny doesn't bother me.

It's fun to see what people bought and why

I received two 19" bronze and they are beautiful!   They will go on the top shelf of my kitchen hutch, with a bit of room between ceiling and flame, with the flames dancing wonderfully on the ceiling.

@crazycockermom, would you happen to have the other lanterns in slate?  I have a couple in slate & hesitated to order for fear the hues would be off.  This new one appears to have a  subtle shine to its finish.  Can't wait to see how you like it! TIA

Here is a picture of mine which just arrived in the slate.

I took pics while unwrapping... will post them on a new thread about unpacking, in case anyone is interested.

I really like this slate. I just don't use that color anywhere, but I really like the cool and calm feeling it exudes.

Our house is very "eclectic!"

There is an aged blue long shutter at the edge of our back window!

Last year, I purchased a "Lagoon Blue" Luminara and it can be seen outside on our roofed porch from inside. It is not as gray as the slate colored one that arrived today.

This slate is much grayer and goes in our house based on the fact that nothing matches!

We have two Luminara Heritage in red beside the fireplace. A black smaller one (Heritage) one is on top of a bookcase. That makes this one our fifth.

A smaller Churchill one is on the bedroom armoire! Stop me now!

Re: My lanterns have arrived

@Mominohio - I think the bronze was the perfect choice for your decor!  I debated about colors, like everyone, and ended up getting the 17"  ivory to use in my kitchen with spring decor, and two small black ones to hang outside under the eves on my deck as I have black wrought iron furniture.  It was nice to see a different luminara style.
