There is good news for the dog lovers who are looking to add to their framed art collection!

So nice!

You can also find artists online for reasonable prices that you can commission to paint your individual dog's portrait.

Maybe you like palette knife painting or more realistic versions or something else individual about a style - it's there for the finding.

Here's a palette example:palette dog.jpg

One painting of my personal dog would be appealing to me but that's all I would want in my home.

My former neighbor and friend is a pet portrait artist.  One year she surprised me for my birthday with a small painting of Nick, my Japanese Chin.  He is gone now, and I treasure that painting.  After I got Frankie I was thinking about asking her to paint a picture of her that I could put beside Nick's picture.  Of course I planned to pay her.  Before I could ask her, she surprised me with a picture of Frankie.  I think both paintings look just like my dogs.  I'm attaching pictures of both paintings below.

So sweet - the dog pics.  And this afternoon my little neighbor next door (8 years old) knocked on the door with a hand-drawn and colored rendering of her dog and mine.  Her dog has lost his toy and mine is swooping in (cape and all) to save the day.

It's on the fridge, of course!  I am delighted.
