While I like the idea, especially with such a long table, the wires would drive me nuts. I would add some color to the room and install, something like this from Potterey Barn. and are suspended from a rectangular canopy on black fabric cords of different lengths. 2 sets could be used and they are dimmable.

It would be fine in a lighting store, but just awful in a residence... The only thing I like about that room is the room itself... Let's toss out everything and start over, you know, with a blank slate...

That's a no for me.  In fact the whole stark white room is a big turnoff.  It hurts my eyes just to look at it.  I'm with those who say remove everything and start over.

Oh my, it looks like a show room for light fixtures..........don't care for it.  Table and chairs look like they belong in an office meeting room.

I spent part of this AM giving a good talk to the knots in the blower cord.  I can only imagine what this setup do to me.

Not a fan of the room period......too white and too much of a cluttered mess hanging from the ceiling!

I like the room itself but the furnishings and the lights have to go.  It's a start from scratch for me.
