@CaliKat I tend to agree. While I value 'light and bright' as much as anyone, I also like a moody and atmospheric space. While I would probably never go this dark on the walls, I think it works and were the blinds more fully open, I think the room would be sufficiently bright or daytime, but yet the room is sufficiently snug, particularly for night time enjoyment. Most of the elements are very appealing to me, though, as noted, they don't really show up in this picture.

I like it! It’s only darker because the blinds are pulled. Perhaps this place is in a very hot climate where curtains aren’t enough. I might go for a different type of shade however. It’s not at all dark and depressing in my opinion. I don’t quite understand that interpretation but we’re all different.
