So very impractical.  For a room that is supposed to have a function.

Overblown ideas of "designer" appeal.  Called a "conceit".  I do not like this one.

@Sweetbay magnolia-

I find this about many "designer" rooms lately in magazines and houses.

As if its for the designer and his/her ego rather than something to live in.

A  lot of it seems coldly modern, no warmth or blah all over "neutral

colors, sharp angles, or not appealing colors.

Even while in an office, I looked at Southern Living and was surprised how cold and modern some of the rooms were.

Right, @on the bay.  Form and function can perform together.  That's the essence of design.

I really love that first view, but the last two pics don’t even look like the same room.

I do love it except the picnic table as the dining room table. You're so right @lolakimono the different angles really give it a whole different perspective. At first glance I hadn't realized it was a picnic table. Very uncomfortable 😣

I too, love when you post these! TY!

I agree with others - love the first pic, really don't like the second and third one.  I also agree with the folks who have said they love these types of pics.  Thank you @lolakimono, I really enjoy all your pics even though I don't usually comment on them Smiley Happy

@lolakimono, interesting!  I love the colors.  Very restful.  I don’t like the red lighting.  I would have gone soft yellow.

Having said that, this is a room I would pass through but not stay in but that is because of the furniture.  LM

Re: Monochromatic + Pop of Color

My opinion is go one way or the other, but putting the two together is just yuck.

I prefer the monochromatic look over the bright colors, but either one on it's own is appealing, just don't mix them!
