Re: Monochromatic Kitchens

[ Edited ]

Yes, a lot to sift through so I'll just say I do like some monochromatic kitchens and others, not so much. It depends on the overall gestalt and the color chosen and the other specific selections; floor, appliances, cabinets, counters and so on... Of those pictured I liked a few, didn't care for most... Off the top of my head I recall thinking some of them were way too wood focused... There was an awful lot of stainless... A a few of them had too modern of a vibe... And at least one of them would seem to require a miner's hat... If I had to pick one to copy it would be between 1, 3, 4, 8 and 9...

Some are better than others but I wouldn't choose any of them for my home.

Since you asked, I studied the photos, and I find that yes, I do like monochromatic kitchens. Especially the lighter neutrals. Food comes in so many gorgeous colors! And there are lots of ways to introduce color accents. The contrast pleases me. The one ingredient that can any kitchen style work, IMO, is lighting. If the lighting is varied and sufficient, any kitching works better.

Nearly every kitchen I've been in is monochromatic. The cabinetry is all the same and flooring and countertops coordinate so these pictures seem accurate to me.

What looks good in a picture doesn't always translate to in person.

I like a little contrast to accentuate certain architecture, for example, but I don't like busy.

I like  most of these.    I'm drawn to the white, blue & green.

I like monochromatic because you can add color or decor for any Season or Holiday easily.

#1 is my favorite.

In my opinion, they are easy on the eye, look clean and uncluttered, and have a peaceful feeling.

I'd say as a rule, I like them.
