Moisture Absorbers for Periea and Other Storage Containers?

If you store your linens, blankets, etc. in Periea or similar storage containers, do you need to add silica packets or some other moisture absorbers? I decided to place my guestrooms' linens and blankets in Periea style containers this year. I usually need them for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and one week in the summer.

Usually, I just stack them in closets, but I always hang Damp Rid in the closets. This time I'm trying to separate them into sizes - Full, Twin, Queen, etc. to make them easier to get to when I need them. So, I want to use the boxes. Any advice?

Heck no, I live in the land of 6% relative humidity.

@Kachina624  Well, that's fine for you, but PA can become like a sauna. Thus my question.

I live in central Maryland, which is also a sauna at times. I never use moisture absorbers because the house has heat and AC. I've never had any issues with any stored items.

Never thought about it but I'll stick some silica packs in with the linens - good idea.

In the summer tho I have the AC on all the time and my house is pretty dry in the winter. My house is never humid.

I use Damp Rid in my garage - works great.

I'm also in PA.

@FranandZoe and @Caffeina  Thanks for the input about heating and AC in your homes. I never thought about it, but we keep our guest rooms closed off with all vents closed when not in use. That may be why I'm getting that stale smell on the linens I store in there.

@PA Mom-mom

It's not really a good idea to close off rooms.
