Nice looking room ... I would remove anything in the room that is green & replace it with some other color ... I hate the color green👎

This home has great bones. It looks like they only have roman shades in the adjoining room, which would certainly make removing the heavy (ugly) drapes and wooden rods in the LR an easy choice.

I'd also remove the mirror and add a geometric piece of artwork in its place. Those lamps would have be replaced with something interesting and modern to bring out the sleeker wingback chair, the coffee table, and the new geometric piece (above the mantle).

A handsome floor lamp with a simple shade would be necessary between the fireplace and wingback chair for reading; the tapered candle would have to go (can't tell if there is another on the other side of the mirror).

The room is ok, but there’s nothing in this room I like enough to want to replicate it in my home.

That beige chair looks very comfortable.  The rest of it...I don't think so.  Really dislike the lamps.

I like the little bouquet of summer flowers--although its size it much more suitable for a side table or on a bookshelf rather than the coffee table.

Actually, the architectural bones of this room is very similar to my former house. However, I would never have decorated it with such a heavy traditional hand. This room is almost suffocating to me and I am not fond of the color of the woodwork on the fireplace or the pocket doors.

I never really liked the windows on either side of my fireplace, but I guess it was a sign of the times owning a vintage home.

Way too traditional for me and I'm trying to find the modern...is it the painting and the coffee table?

Maybe the paneled wall.
