Re: Mixing black and ss appliances

IMHO, black and stainless is a natural combo. When we moved into our new house a few years ago, the stovetop was one of those black smooth cooktops, but the microwave above it, and my double ovens and sink were stainless. Our refrigerator was still in good shape but an almond color, so I had it professionally painted to black. The mixture of stainless and black is classic, so I don't think you can go wrong.

Re: Mixing black and ss appliances

Your ideas all sound very nice to me. I want to mention you can get SS that does not leave ANY fingerprints. Ours is the Gallery series by Frigidaire, very pretty. A French door refrigerator, gas stove and microwave. We got them all at Lowe's, they price match themselves so you get the best deals. Also, delivery was very good. Our DW was new, a KA, white, that you can't see in the island, so kept it. Frig has upper and lower icemakers, I love that.

I would advise getting the additional warranty, three years for about $69..00. We have had to have the top icemaker replaced once, and adjusted once, no charge. Lowe's has a number to call for fast and good service.

Our range is beautiful, some black trim, three grates. with an additional flat piece so you can grill on it.

But remember that about the fingerprints. I don't know if anyone else has that yet

Sounds ""Way Cool"".............I'd go for it (only I wish they made candy apple red appliances!)

Oh yes ! That would be gorgeous. I would buy appliances in that color.

I saw a candy apple red retro refrigerator at our local appliance store. They had a turquoise one too....18 cu. ft. and $3500!!!!

I guess you have to pay for style!

I have stainless and black, it's very sharp, we think. My kitchen needed to be redesigned and the kitchen designer picked out the colors and the look is very clean and modern.

Re: Mixing black and ss appliances

I have a Wolf range which is SS, it usually has red knobs be we ordered black instead. Our fridge is black glass and our dishwasher is black. I really don't care if we match, I get what I like and don't really care what others think. Ha!

Ok when I first read this I thought no, but i actually went to look at the oven online and not only does it have a black top, but it has a large black area around the window. I think it will be fine.

Re: Mixing black and ss appliances

I really prefer black and honestly do not care for stainless. Looks too industrial to me and I feel that it's going out pretty soon. I've lived thru Harvest Gold, Avocado, Turquoise, Brown, pink and so on. Teaches you that what's in today will be out tomorrow.

That being said, however, I think that if you want to combine any two colors, black and stainless are the best you could find. Hope it turns out beautifully for you. Enjoy.
