Re: Mixed Seating in DR or Breakfast Nook

I like this. My in-laws have something like this in one of their homes and it's a cozy/warm/homey feeling. If done right, it's looks great. If done wrong, it's looks....bad, lol.

First picture is airy and attractive, but the table is too small for the large seating area. It may be suitable as an all-weather porch sitting area, which provides great storage. Not a fan of eating there with several people at limited table area.

Prefer a round dining table, but would settle for a large rectangular table. Like comfortable highback dining chairs for each person.

No, I like a table that seats 6, and matching chairs.   I do not like chairs with armrests at the ends and then 4 chairs without armrests on the sides of the table.

Love mixed seating and love the colors in this one....! I've become more casual and fluid in my "older age".

I love the last one with the turquoise chairs.   I have to have a back and these chairs look comfortable.  Also love the colors.

@lolakimono

I like the look of banquette seating in a breakfast nook. In a dining room I only like chairs, and I prefer high backs. No benches for me, I like to be able to lean back.
