Mirror Mirror On The Wall

[ Edited ]

I recently bought a white-framed mirror that leans against the wall in my bedroom. My other decorative wall mirrors give a limited view, & the ones above my bathroom sinks are floating ovals. There is a plethora of mirrors to choose from. This is what I saw today from Restoration Hardware and Anthropologie.

Re: Mirror Mirror On The Wall

All so very pretty!  If I didn't have my grandmother's big glass vanity, I'd love the look of one of those big floor mirrors!

My fave is this one:

Mirrors can be very pretty and add sparkle to a room, in addition to making it appear larger.

However care must be taken in hanging them to assure that they reflect a pleasant view.  Too often people hand them over fireplaces so that the reflect nothing but an unattractive ceiling.  I'd rather see a bare wall.  They can easily be an asset or a liability.

@ECBG  That's one of my favorites too!

@Kachina624In my last house, the mover hung a mirror too high on the wall so it barely showed my neck & head. (I'm 5'4"). I'd also say that if a heavy mirror is going to hang on the wall, be sure to use anchors when hanging it.

There are so many beautiful mirrors & frames. I think the patterned glass mirrors are so pretty when used for home decor (& not for checking your outfit or makeup LOL.)

@Desert Lily

Years ago I was at a Rug and Home just looking around.  There was the prettiest large rectangle gold mirror with 3-D slightly life size cherub heads and wings.  Stunning.

Re: Mirror Mirror On The Wall

I like #16.  I would use it as a mirror on a bedroom door leading to the hall.

I have 11 decorative mirrors in my house and my medicine cabinet in one of the bathrooms has a triple mirror in the medicine cabinet well lighted above which is really helpful for checking face and hair.

The mirrors I use for checking head to toe are mirrored closet doors.

There are some very unique mirrors posted here.

@Desert Lily  Oh my! Seeing this collection of gorgeous mirrors (and frames) makes me wish I had more rooms, and thus walls, for more mirrors. The only other home decor item that I find as appealing as mirrors would be lamps.

Maybe that could be your next assignment here...  (j/k)

1,2 and 3 are gorgeous.

I love mirrors. The reflective qualities and just the light airiness that they provide and of course it's an added bonus when they reflect a beautiful scene.

I have more mirrors than pictures because I find I don't tire of them like I can sometimes tire of pictures.
