Did anyone happen to see the presentation this morning on Dan's holiday show of the Mirage candles? I had never seen them before. The candle itself looked nice but the flame was not nearly as nice as on the Luminara. It did not seem to move. Too bad as the price was much less than the Luminara.

Yes, I saw the presentation.  If the flame had moved better, I would have bought them as Luminara always secents the candles, and I hate that.

Most of my Luminara candles are plastic, not wax. The ones that are wax have no scent. All 4 of my white birch Luminara candles are also 'unscented'.

I agree that the price was good.  I just ordered a set; hope I'm not disappointed!

I've seen the Mirage line out in various gift shops (but not this particular candle) and I have to say, I wasn't all that impressed. The flame looks bad when off and not really that realistic when on either.

What I do like is the battery life (why doesn't Luminara do that, I know it can be done) and the programmable timer. Two really great points.

I can't believe how inexpensive the set is, and I'm considering ordering because of the extended return, and the great value. If it fails in that time, back they go.

I saw the video and wasn't all that impressed by them either.  I do like the price and wondering if they would look nice when I put candles on the tops of cabinets, etc.  I don't think I'd use them on a low table but then I've used CI candles there and they aren't very real looking with the black wick and no flame. IMO. I may do as some of you and try a set.  I like the green but would most likely get the cream as it always works with everything.  I just wish the "flame" would move, makes it look much more real.  Decisions, decisions.  My head is spinning.  :-)

Lucky you, as the two sets I ordered have a terrible scent, and it wasn't even mentioned in the description that they were scented.

Same for me...

I'd rather pay more for Luminara with a sale/coupon. Last year I got the white birch Luminara candles for 30% off at PB (they were backordered at the time, but worth the wait!). Some things are just worth paying more for...JMO.

SL, we're on the same page.  I love the Luminara as they are the closest to real that I've seen anywhere.  Sometimes for the sake of saving a few dollars it ends up costing us to return items that we just aren't pleased with.  I was looking on the BBB site and checking for a coupon for Luminara.  So, I'll probably do some price shopping and go with Luminara anyway.  I need a couple more by the holidays.

I watched the video and agree with you. I prefer a flickering "flame." They are pretty, and I like the battery life and the longer timer - really like that one. I just ordered the set of cream Luminara ones, so I guess I should be glad I didn't prefer these! Smiley Wink
