I like the idea of merging indoor with outdoor. But........way too much geometrics going on for my taste.

I like the idea of merging the two.

You know that man who sold purses, was married to Kathy that sold purses. Well, did you see pictures of that house he sold. The living room slider opened up to the pool that looked (Bruce M) out over the city. That just blew me away. So expensive though!!
But I do love that when you have doors or walls that allow you to just walk right outside. How wonderful is that.

I like the idea too. It's easier for me to get in and raid your refrigerator. heh

I would not put an indoor rug out on a patio nor outdoor rattan furniture in my living room.

I am all for doing such but I have cats. They would claw that wicker funiture and claw those rugs.
I have a coir area rug and they've turned it into something that is unrecognizable. It's their nature and yet they have others things for them to claw but they seem to want to claim just about everything and personalize it.

I like the indoor outdoor concept, and like the flooring in both areas, but that's it. There is absolute no "homey" feel to either area for me.

Love the rugs. I recently bought this rug for my Southwestern home. Just came; Haven even unrolled it.
It's 8 X 10' for the dining room, opening to covered patio.

There are so many buzz phrases in decor and interior design and I'm personally tired of most of them, this one included. I like to have access to the outdoors. I love, for example, a good screened porch or even a nicer terrace, patio or deck. Beyond that, while I have no problem with decorating with whatever works in my space, things created for the outdoors and colors found in nature included, outside is outside and inside is inside... And no, I have no desire for a fully equipped outdoor kitchen...
