How often do you wash your mattress pad??  I have a king bed and fortunately it fits into my washer but I still only wash it a few times a year.  Should I be washing it more regularly???

@kaydee50  Maybe.  But I only wash mine about the same as you do, if that often.  {*_*}

I think a few times a year is more than enough. Most are not built to withstand too much washing and drying.  I do let mine air out when I change linens, either open a window or turn ceiling fan on for a few hours before putting sheets on bed.

I bought a cheapy mattress pad that I just lay on top of my "good" mattress pad.  I do have fasten it down with some safety pins to avoid slippage.  However, this way, I only wash the thin, cheap pad.  At that, I probably only wash that about 3-4 times a year.

I don't. 🤷‍♀️

Mine barely fit into my washer and I feel that they don't really get cleaned anyway. I refuse to take something like that to the cleaners.  I like mine well padded and the padding shifts when it's washed and then is uncomfortable.

So I vacuum and air it regularly and when I feel it gets too yucky, I just replace it.

@Shelbelle, that's exactly what I do.

I have two mattress pads on my bed.  The bottom one is heavy and thick.  The top one is very thin.

Every once in a while, I throw the thin pad into the wash with the sheets. About every six weeks.

The heavier pad I was only wash a few times a year.  I wash my pillows at the same time.

I probably wash mine that amount too. It fits but it gets unbalanced and sound like the machine is going to take off.

Even the more expensive ones are so cheaply made of cheap fabric that they fall apart aft about 3 trips through the washer/dryer.

Has anyone discovered a good, sturdy brand?

I have a king size coolmax loft top mattress pad. I usually wash about every 90 days. I was going to do that this morning but I forget. I will do it next weekend.
