We are planning on remodeling our master bath this year and are considering marble tile. If you have marble in your bath, do you like it? Would you use it if you remodeled? TIA for any info.

Be careful with matching the tile. The whirling and shade patterns can be a pain to match. Marble must be sealed. It has to be cleaned with a marble cleaner. Water can leave a ring. I had a marble floor in a bathroom which I had to get rid of after a few years because it looked terrible.

@lovethgedress I would listen to @Janey2 about using marble. It can stain (water). Years ago I had a slab of marble in a cocktail table and it did stain. I hated it and no longer own it. Do your homework and find out the bad and good of a certain product you like then make your decision. I would think you would want something that will last but is also easy care.

In my opinion the only tile I would consider is Travertine tile. It is the ideal tile for the bathroom.

Hi LTD,
We just redid our home and used a light blue marble slab on the counter and the same blue marble but in tiles in the shower and on the floor. I'll share a couple of photos of part of the bathroom because I love it : )
I don't think I would do it again. While I love the way it looks, I worry constantly about stains - dropping lotion, make-up, rings from the soap, etc.
As a matter of fact, I have a related question and maybe someone here can answer it. If you have marble on the counter, floor and shower, where do you use a spray product (like hair spray for instance).
We re-did our entire place after 30 years and indulged ourselves using carpet and tile that I absolute love. But, since completing the project I have pretty much stopped using any spray product. On the very rare occasion I feel I must use hair spray, I go out onto our balcony to spray it on : (
What does every body else do? I don't want to spray on my new porcelain tile, carpet or marble tile!

My Ma kept a towel by the sink.......and everybody had to wipe the sink and vanity counter down IMMEDIATELY after use. She did NOT ALLOW anybody to take a shower (!!! omg) to avoid spots on the tile.
The things in my house are meant to be used.......and I expect them to show wear with age.

@lovethgedress, reading those comments, marble would be off the list for me. There are many beautiful easy care tiles choices today. Good luck! LM

You better do some reading on using marble in a bathroom. Marble and water definitely do not mix! I wanted marble too when we built but was quickly shot down by our designer.

I have the exact same wall mirrors in my master bath! They are pretty, aren't they?

When we tiled our powder room floor we used a ceramic tile that looked just like marble. It's such a good fake that it fooled our tile man when we hired someone to do our kitchen floor.
It was less expensive than marble and easier to maintain but you can still get the real look of marble.
