Marsha2003...In search of a photo you shared

I can't find the photo of your square chocolate mg pedestals with Finley Hill candle rings and the 5" Luminara glitter candle on top. I was wanting to have another look at it. Still contemplating what height and width candle I think I would like best for these wide pedestals. The thread may be gone. If you still have the pic, would it be way too much trouble to repost it or email it to me?

I was thinking that the new VPH berries and boxwood candle rings would look good, too.

Thanks for such a quick reply! I like the new VPH rings, too. I do have the GRoad natural candle rings headed my way in October. In addition, I bought some various pip berry and round berry picks that I think I can disassemble, then tuck some of their small sprigs into the GR rings. I "think" I'm covered as far as candle rings, but I won't know how it comes together for a while yet.

Did you see the new Luminaras with the 360 degree scallop top? The rustic style and the new top won't be for everyone, but I'm definitely interested.

Early morning is when I'm usually at the PC, so I saw your post quickly. I like some of the colors of the new Luminara 360's and I may cave in and buy some later, but I really have way too many candles at this point...lol. Did you see that the birch wrapped Luminaras are available again this year at PB? Some sizes won't ship until October, but I like the smallest version for my set of three VPH fleur-de-lis hurricanes.

Re: Marsha2003...In search of a photo you shared

I just looked and did see the birch candles. I just know they will look great in the hurricanes. I also see a 4" diameter by 5" ivory candle and that same size in the birch. There are more 4" wide Luminaras out there than I realized. Those prices are making me more tempted to try the QVC rustic set, though.

The 3-1/2" wide candles you experimented with on your pedestals look fine to me in the photo. Do you think so, or do you think you will be using a wider candle, or just using the pedestal as a base for other items?

It's funny, because I don't need any more candles either. I can't count the times I've said it and thought it. Then I go and buy something else like the large arched lantern or these wide square pedestals and realize I don't have the right candles, so the quest continues...

I bought H202618 in green to put on my chocolate square pedestals. They don't totally fill the space, but do better than the other luminara set. I have an apple green pair that are 3" diameter. They swim a little in the pedestals. I almost threw them out because they weren't working, but kept fiddling with them and bought a different brand batteries. My $20 bargain is costing me a fortune!! Luckily I got some cash for my birthday, so it didn't hurt as much.

I like those embossed damask candles, graycats. Thanks for your input on the different widths, too. It's very helpful to me. A bargain on one thing can quickly cost us a fortune, I so agree!

I think with the candle ring to fill in, that size looks fine with the pedestals. Sometimes, I think you just have to play around with things until they look right to you, but I think you can probably use almost any smaller diameter candle on the pedestals as long as there's something to create transition between the two. Heaven knows, it's cheaper to buy some filler than it is to buy more candles, easier to store, too.
