Re: Malden Mills Polarfleece sheets

IMO I can't imagine anything any more uncomfortable than sleeping on non breathing HOT HOT HOT polarfleece (AKA polyester) sheets. For those of you who like them - enjoy. They are cute, I love the cardinal ones design. But they are absolutely not for me.

@MTH, I have a 90 lb double coated hound dog that sheds like mad, and sleeps on the bed, and I've had no more hair with the Polar Fleece than any others, as to what comes out in the wash.  Maybe it depends on the type of coat.

Every surface in my house is a hair magnet, it seems (I also have a 100 lb dog of the same type but she doesn't get on the bed).  Once I had to have a procedure done with a scope down my ear and the doc said:  "Do you have a black dog with short hair?".  He found a hair down there.

@Sweetbay magnolia:  LOL what a great story.  My dogs have free run of our house and are all over the place including the bed.  My pups are both labs with a double coat too so even tho their hair is short, it seems to always be everywhere.  Guess I could try a set and see what happens.  Thanks for the info and thanks for a great chuckle. Only a dog lover would appreciate that story!

MTH  - We have 2 labs too (yellow/black) and they are shedding like mad now! plus we have 4 kitties. One thing is guaranteed - there will ALWAYS be hair everywhere I look in the house!! lol

@KellKats I knew I liked you Kel.,..Lab lovers stick together.  Guess these sheets are probably not for us Huh??

I like you too MTH! they are our babies and as much as I complain about cleaning the hair around here, I can't imagine not having them!! - I do have some fleece sheets that are from BBB (we live in WI so COLD winters!!) that are getting pretty old and I believe they were from Berkshire. Let's just say I own a lot of lint rollers in this house!!Woman LOL

@KellKats  I should have stock in link rollers.  Whoever invented those loves our house.  They are our babies too. In fact, I think we bought this house just for them...big yard and a pool.    Are you gonna try these sheets???

Re: Malden Mills Polarfleece sheets

We have Malden Mills Polarfleece sheets from years back and I have given them as gifts. We love our set, they are not hot at all. With that in mind last year when they had these I ordered the white with the cardinals. They were not the same quality as my old set and they shed something terrible. I was so disappointed. My SIL ordered a different type of the Malden Mills Fleece sheets in a pink color shortly after I ordered this set, unfortunately hers also shed. I am again tempted to re-order the white with hope they have changed the material to prevent the shedding.

@KellKats Did we say something someone didnt like??? Dont remember doing that but who knows how something was taken.  I would think people would be interested if they also have pets.  Also...I just saw by another poster that she said her sheets from last year shed really badly.  Not sure I'm gonna take the plunge on these (but if I did I woiuld get the penguins...mostly because its the only color I could work into my stuff).

Hi, I am the person who posted about the shedding. I just wanted to share my experience. I am still thinking of buying a set as a gift for my nephew and is wife. He is a big Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Think they might enjoy them, as the house they rent is old and uninsulated. Hopefully the green won't have a shed issue.

@Allegheny Hi.  Thanks for the info.  I am on the fence on these because of the shedding you mentioned and having dog hair that might get into the fleece.  I think given your info and the dog hair info from other posters, I may just sit this one out. I love the penguin but just don't think it will work given the "occupants" in my house.  It's great that we can share this kind of info so we know in advance on some of these products if they will fit into our lifestyle.  Thanks again. I'm sure your nephew will love them if he's a big Pitt fan.

As cute as these sets are, I just don't buy seasonal sheet sets. The bedding on our bed has flowers and I only buy solid color sheet sets. I just can't see changing all the bedding including a quilt/bedspread for a short period of time, and we just don't have the added storage space for such a temporary change.

For those of you who have solid bedding sets, it works great! Even if we did have a solid quilt/comforter/bedspread, then it would look silly anyway because of our floral matching curtains...not going to change those too...LOL

I'll enjoy the cardinals, angels, etc on tabletop decor instead Smiley Happy
