... but also a few other Christmas vignettes from Flower Magazine.

This mantel struck me b/c of the relative delicacy of the garland, and then an explosion of white amaryllis just in the middle.  Chunky pinecones bring in rusticity-- nice.

But, how about a total change of pace?  For the 'modern' lovers-- wispy greens, doubled hurricanes, but the grounding touches of antique painting and vintage boxes..

In the same house, a bedroom is all bedecked, the wreath picking up the colors of contemporary fabrics and lamps--

Love the effect of this garland, romatically swagging and peaking up over the mirror, high above the mantel--

Coral pink amaryllis,  massed in a brass urn for impact--

Interesting-- I like the way the garland is kind of "interrupted" in the middle, while the two ends are lush, and accented by exotic green porcelain tulipieres--

Cue the drama!  How intriguing this would be in an entry.  I would love to have that celadon 'basin' that the paperwhites are in--  an attractive and roomy casserole could fill the bill nicely--

This mantel goes for a more traditional look than the previous one that had doubled hurricanes together-- this one puts them at either end, with the mirror in between-- stately.

Icy pastels, below, bring that winter fairy tale mystique!

Love the joyful abundance of paperwhites, the striking blue and white jars, pomegranates and apples--

Speaking of pomegranates and fruit in general, floral designer Emily Kennedy wanted to combine fruit and florals to evoke her version of Christmas--

A lot of the elements would be heavy, so she prepped with floral foam, and netting to offer support--

She used hellebores, evergreen, holly from her own yard.  Then added figs, chestnut branches, persimmons, pomegranates, and brilliant dahlias.

The finished result, with bright red fruit and blossoms, and green botanicals, brings holiday cheer next to the dusky blue wall.

Re: MOSTLY MANTELS....

[ Edited ]

The white amaryllis would make me crazy because they are leaning. . .don't care for the wispy greens mantle at all, just not my taste.  The photo I really love is the finished result centerpiece. . . Love that and love knowing the base of the piece . . .I learned something precious to me.  Thank you for sharing this @Oznell !

What a beautiful arrangement she made at the end.

I liked the celadon container tooSmiley Happy

I also like the arching grens over the mantel to accent the mirror.

And the birch logs in the fireplace!

When we did have a mantel and fireplace, in one of them, I always put birch logs which I think are so pretty.

That is a very cute dogSmiley Happy

Thanks for the interesting and pretty mantels @Oznell

They're all lovely. I love the sedate-ness (is that a word?) of this one.

I do love a good mantle—-that’s what I decorate each season. Have a good one in my apartment now. But think the fireplace itself , a waste of space—-never use it. Don’t have a fireplace in the new apt I’m moving to soon —-will miss the mantle !

@Judaline   That really is a lovely room.  Makes me feel very "calm".

@Oznell   As always, beautiful pictures.  I'm really taken with that one room.  It has a mixture of things that I wouldn't normally expect to look good together and yet, to my eye, they do.

It's light, but busy, if that makes sense.  It's the photo with all the books on the coffee table.  Of course, I can't see it as I type this, so I can't remember what else is in it - - I just know I liked it.

My favorite is the second one but I probably would have gone with red stockings or something darker.
