I have two complete sets of linens for my king-size bed--comforter, shams, sheets, pillowcases. Normally what I do is wash/dry/put back on the bed. The extra set is for when one of my cats barfs on the bed in the middle of the night!

For the set I'm not using, the fitted sheet is folded as best I can, then is stacked with the flat sheet and pillowcases. Then I put the whole pile into one of the pillowcases and fold the end under before placing on the shelf--it actually looks reasonably neat that way.

They used to say you need 3 sheet setsSmiley Surprisedne on the bed, one on the shelf, and one in the wash. Anyway, that's what they used to say.

Re: MORE SHEET PRBLEMS.... I think about

Look up The Folding Lady (Sophie Liard) on YouTube. We used to follow the Martha way of folding fitted sheets, and then Sophie taught me how to make...sheet set "packets" for lack of a better word -- where the folded fitted sheet and pillow cases slide into a pocket of the folded flat sheet.

We do keep more than one set of sheets in the house, only because we change our sheets twice a week (nothing like sliding into bed with fresh, clean sheets!). It is so pleasing to see those neatly folded sheet set "packets" on the shelf.

We only buy sheets that have the top/bottom tags. Once you've had those, there's no going back.

(The Folding Lady is an incredible resource. Her "after value" and R.E.S.E.T. concepts are really helpful.)

@Judaline I've heard that about 3 sets, too. But two work for me! Woman Happy

Psssst, the sheets are not alive.  They don't care if they are wadded up in a ball.

Re: MORE SHEET PRBLEMS.... I think about

@Flatbush  Another tip regarding tags - - if the sheets don't have a top/bottom tag, but just one nameless tag, that tag is almost always in the bottom right hand corner.  I only recently found that out.  Now when I go to make the bed, I always know which corner of the sheet goes where.

@Citrine1

Thanks, that will help simplify the sheet puzzle.
