I do know how to fold a fitted sheet, but I'll admit, it's not the easiest thing to do. There's another way to fold it that won't send you to therapy. Lay the fitted sheet on top of your bed and sort of smooth it out until you get a rectangular shape. Fold the long top edge down to the middle of the sheet. Then bring the long lower edge up to meet in the middle. Fold it in half longways and smooth it out. Then keep folding it in half longways until you get a squared off shape. It ends up pretty decent looking and won't take up room in your linen closet.
I saw this on YouTube years ago. People were practically in tears thanking the poster. 😂😂😂

I have three sets of sheets that I rotate. Being able to purchase extra pillow cases is a must for me since I have four pillows on the bed. I store sheets in zippered cases I purchased through the Container Store. I also store blankets the same way so the linen closet is organized and I'm not "searching" for pieces.

Okay,I read all the replies and here is what happened or didn't...
1.Good idea to look for the tag on the fitted sheet. That could help.
2.You Tube..Looked at a few and even saw Martha on TV showing her technique. The woman she was trying to show how to do it was also hopelessly lost. Enough said.
3.Mattress suspenders.I have them and they do not hold the fabric in place.
4.Iron board solution? How do I fold the sheet when the ironing board is not very wide and the sheet slips off?
5.Use sheets, wash, dry and replace them on bed again.Well, I have done this, but then I feel guilty ( yes, guilty) for not using the rest of the sheets in the closet. That seems wasteful.
6. Oh yes, the duvet. That's another problem. Eventually I was able put the quilt in the duvet, but had to use some straps that came in the duvet to hold the quilt in it and now the quilt and the duvet has these tied up end corners that have ruined the quilt. The quilt and the duvet are never even or separated and it is perpetually lumpy on one side and empty on the other side. Now I never take the quilt out any more. It is in there for a decade or two, but at least it is probably clean.
It's all so exhausting...

I taught a friend how to fold sheets to make them look nice. I convinced her what pleasure it is to open the closet and see sheet sets folded into each other and how they lay so nice. She appreciated my efforts but not sure that she continues to fold the way I taught her, I am funny about how my towels are folded as well. LOL.

Life is too short to worry about whether my fitted sheets are perfectly folded or not.I put them into a pillow sham and stack them on top of my flat sheets in the linen closets.
You can use a laundry marker to mark the bottom or top of the sheet if that is something hard to figure out sometimes. For some reason , DH loves to change the sheets on our bed and prefers I don't "help". I am a truly blessed!

Yep, folding fitted sheets is another reason I despise them. I've watched numerous videos on how to fold them and I still can't figure it out. It probably doesn't help that I'm 5' tall, with the armspan of a T-Rex, so dealing with king or queen sized sheets is pretty comical, at best.
Yes, you really need to be tall, or have long arms, to fold a fitted sheet. There ought to be another way!

I have two complete sets of linens for my king-size bed--comforter, shams, sheets, pillowcases. Normally what I do is wash/dry/put back on the bed. The extra set is for when one of my cats barfs on the bed in the middle of the night!
For the set I'm not using, the fitted sheet is folded as best I can, then is stacked with the flat sheet and pillowcases. Then I put the whole pile into one of the pillowcases and fold the end under before placing on the shelf--it actually looks reasonably neat that way.

Well, I am going to try to fold the fitted sheet one more time and if I still don't get it, I will stick it in a pillow case with the other sheet and pillow case. Then linen closet looks kinda okay or at least better than not.
