Yvonne of Stone Gable Home does a soft, muted fall in her light-colored house.
I've seen her use this gourd or giant pear before. Which is it, a huge faux pear or gourd??? I love the look of mottled Bosc pears so I'd probably pretend it was a pear... Looks so nice with her white pumpkins.
The tawny, ribbon-y grass is pretty here.
Question: Does boxwood really turn colors in the fall? Love these little balls of faux "rusty" boxwood and teeny tiny gourds.
There's that oversize pear/ gourd again:
....and here's a different way that she dressed the fireplace area. Now the little boxwood balls are on the mantel, the throw pillows are in earthy neutrals, the basket tray on the coffee table holds a different arrangement.
I like how she uses the same things over and over, but in different ways. Probably most of us do that.
The single candlestick, in an iron lantern, is a neat idea:
By the way, she has the coolest mirror for decorating--
She's capable of full-on, autumnal color, but more often leans "quieter". I like both approaches, in different moods. This arrangement below is glorious:
Speaking of color, one thing I noticed this year, out and about, is much more use of burgundy ( for sure) and green for fall.
Wispy burgundy--
And luxuriant green...
At Worthing Court, another excellent blog, the burgundy leaves really spark up the whole area, and even tie in with the chair's throw pillow--
Somehow, in starting with Stone Gable, I got onto an online store that had some pretty, organic looking containers and botanicals. The online store is called "Interior Delights".
I have a weakness for strange, sci-fi looking pods. Wonder what these are supposed to mimic. They look like they could be sending cosmic signals.
Their bath stuff looked interesting too. I like the idea of travertine risers and trays in the bathroom.
Anyway, if you decorate and have started, please tell what colors you are using. Do you always do the same colors, or change it up sometimes?

All of the decor is just lovely, especially the floral arrangements. My favorite is that beautiful blue and white bowl filled with fall decor. That is a standout and also the mirror decor is an eye catcher.
I use the basic Fall colors for the most part but I must say I love the burgundy addition that I display here and there with the oranges, yellows , rusts. For me they enhance the rest of the Fall colors.

This is just beautiful @Oznell
First, I vote pear. The gourds I've seen always have much thicker necks. Bosc pear it is!
I love the softer, more muted colors. That said, my favorite is the colorful velvet pumpkins you referred to as "gorgeous". Love it.
Next would be the small white pumpkins in the bowl on the navy blue table.
Thank you for all of your hard work in bringing us these amazing postings.

@Oznell I love it all, but lean more towards the more colorful decor. The "quiet" style is very peaceful looking, though.
I vote "pear"...and wish I had one!
Most of my fall decor is ceramic pumpkin items in traditional orange with green leaves--the orange is more of a brownish tone than bright orange. I also use faux leaves in all the beautiful fall colors.

@Oznell What a gorgeous collection of pictures! I love them all. I too vote giant pear and it's adorable.
The beautiful round mirror picture got my creative juices flowing and I think it could be easily replicated on the cheap by purchasing 2 half round mirrors from Hobby Lobby (which I see often). I would have never thought to use 2 in this way but now I do and will if I find the right 2!
As far as my decorating I have a collection of white and whitewashed pastel colored pumpkins that I love.
But mostly my fall decorating is more geared toward Halloween. I like to create the look of an elegant Hunted House.

@Oznell Wonderful design and displays!!!! Totally out of reach for thie house of a dozen cats, most of the florals would need to be redone every few days!! I envy those that can have such beautiful and artistic tablescapes!

I've added the color of bordeaux to my autumn table setting. I call it that because that's what Pottery Barn calls that color. Honestly, I'm not sure I know the difference between bordeaux, merlot and burgundy as colors..

So beautiful. Looks like a "beachy/shabby chic" way to do fall in many of those photos, which I love. I do pretty much traditional fall colors, with bluish-green shades thrown in (some pottery that I have). Enjoyed looking at this; thanks!

Thank you! Autumn is just the best. Christmas decorating can be overdone and garish, but Autumn never. Just the best time of year.
