Not to mention heat from the sun when you cooked.

@ECBG , the windows are treated. You can see out but your neighbors cannot see in.

It is gorgeous but there is no privacy.

I would want a taller island and the stools would have to be replaced with something more comfortable.

"You can see out but your neighbors cannot see in " -- If Raymond Burr's character in "Rear Window " had those he could have gotten away with murder . That  movie was the first thing I thought of when I saw the post. Smiley Happy

I agree the stools look like a disaster for most people.  Otherwise it is lovely . If one had the $$ for the rent/ mortgage you could buy other stools I suppose .

Love the “Rear Window” reference. One of my favorite movies!

If the windows are treated so that people can’t see in that is great! I’m not a modern kitchen person, but I think it works in this space. I really don’t like the “chairs” at the island.

I suppose it's a nice enough kitchen, it simply isn't for me. Too modern, too cold. Treated for privacy or not, the uncovered windows aren't something I'd choose. Again, the view might be wide open, but I'm not seeing much of a view. Even were there a nice one, I prefer the psychologial and physical warmth and privacy afforded by some kind of window treatment and in this instance, it could be something very simple that doesn't interefere with the light and bright, if that's what is being sought.

How neat about your son's windows, @Trinity11 ,  and in general, the treatments they can do to give you perfect "one-way" viewing!  I wondered about that--  was speculating that maybe they had razor thin motorized blinds that retreated into the ceiling, or something.  But the treated windows thing is a much "cleaner" and nicer solution, in my view.

This is a beautiful kitchen.  I do like the looks of the chairs in this particular kitchen but I question the function of them.  All in all, it's a beautiful kitchen if  you're into modern or the city.
