Tertiary color kitchens, tin ceilings, Gloucester Cathedral-- love all the eclectic info that we get in the "Home" forum!

@Oznell That is one beautiful ceiling. I probably would have chosen a different ceiling for the dining room area.
I can see why Tiffany won an award for that bathroom. That green tile is beautiful. My kind of bathroom! Love everything about it.

I love all of the various pieces in blue. Much prefer the white ceiling, but I would have just left the dining room ceiling plain. The dark ornate one has too much competing with it, and of course, it wins. I had never even thought of painting over it. It would obscure all of the great detail. Seems it would look better as it is in a larger room or something like a grand hallway or entry where it would be the center of attention. It's hard to appreciate the rest of the room, but I love everything in it. The arches and other details in the house are lovely. Thanks for your comments; they add so much to your photos.

I've got to get moving right now and only have time to say: "I want that laundry room"--including the door.
Maybe later if I remember, I'll get back here and look at the photos @Oznell. Just took a quick glance and they look interesting.

The ceiling should be higher and less furniture in the room.
Separately the ceiling and the room are delightful to look at. But they are too much together. You need more breathing room in my opinion.
Yeah. You want a minimum of a ten to twelve foot ceiling if you're going fancy on the ceiling. Taller is better. Especially if the ceiling protrudes downward.

The wood ceiling is beautiful, but I'd not choose it. I don't care for tin ceilings, though this one is pretty. There appear to be many lovely elements in this home and also quite a number of decorative choices I'd not make and elements I'd not select . The house does seem a bit 'crowded' but that might be the nature of the photos.

The wooden ceiling is extraordinary, but it seems a bit heavy for the space. I agree that it would work better if the ceiling were higher. I don't mind the painted ceiling at all. My favorite rooms are the dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and green bathroom (minus the spiky ceiling light).

As a general rule I don't care for heavy looking ceilings. I don't care for ceilings painted in a dark color either.
