I was let go from my job back in March and so far have not found another. I was trying to figure out a way to make some extra money and came to a decision to do some major cleaning out of things. I made a list of the items that I had major excesses of (Bare Escentuals, Shower Gels, DVD's & jewelry, etc.) & decided to take one item at a time & pitch, pitch, pitch! I have a good friend who has estate sales & will sell the items for me. I have already gone through my handbags (enough for my own D&B store) so those are done. Yesterday & today I worked on Bare Escentuals, no one, I repeat no one should have as many shadows, radiances, etc. as I had. I have 3-1 gallon zip lock bags almost completely full of brushes, shadows, etc. I can't even begin to tell you how much better I feel. Oh yes, I still have a boat load to clean out but I have made a good start. I was really starting to feel like the clutter was choking me & figured that now while I am looking for work & am at home that I should take advantage of the time & put it to good use. I sure hope I can keep the momentum going!

Thought I would bring those of you that responded to this post back in October up to date. When my new furnace & air conditioner was installed in December we determined I was in bad need of insulation in the attic, which had probably not been insulated since the house was built in the 50's. The attic was kindly emptied by the guys who came to do the job, I called to have a dumpster delivered & off I went. What didn't go to the estate sale went into the dumpster & so much stuff that was in the garage. It wasn't full a week later but it was close. My neighbor who is also unemployed has been such a help to me (I feed her for payment). As of today the entire garage has been cleaned out, I have even gone through the boxes that I brought when I moved in with my Mom. Geez the stuff I found! I have a large amount of stuff to put out for heavy trash day next month. I cannot even begin to tell you how much better I feel. I had a coat closet in my living room that was packed to the gills (coats plus xmas deco on floor & upper shelf). The coats have been gone through, the floor is completely clear & the upper shelf is decluttered! Ditto to the closet in the study (minus the coats of course). It had so much Xmas decorations on the floor & upper shelf I couldn't hardly get to the closet. Not so now! It is just so amazing how much better the closets look. I still have a lot of Christmas decorations left but I have put all that I want to keep in one place & plan to go through them again for a 2nd purge! There is still a lot to do but it feels so good to have come this far!
