Re: Luminara vs Candle Impressions

I like the two sets of Luminara that I bought last year with hardly any scent, chocolate and amber, I forget the official color.  I used them in my Fall decor, and will again this year.

I bought those brown Luminara last year, too, and I had to send them back because the odor was potent. I burn tarts all the time, but this scent was overwhelming, even my husband told me to get them to the garage. So mine must have been from a different production run, and I haven't tried any wax Luminara since.

I wish CI would get in more Mirage. I have the grey, and I'm impressed with the look, the color, the price, and battery power. It's so much better than those plastic, molded flames like in other products.

I also have Luminar candles with a terrible odor, and the rep never states that they are scented.

@Nomore

I, too, am very impressed with Q's initial Mirage offering. I bought the set in green, cream, and red. Only ordered the red at first and was so impressed I went back for the other two. Wish I had been able to get the gray.

For me, the programmable timer, and the extended battery life are a real plus. I think all flameless items should now be coming with programmable timers. It is so much more user friendly, to be able to choose your own time.

I'm really hoping that Mirage broadens their offerings, and that the price stays so low.

Re: Luminara vs Candle Impressions

I think there is room for both brands.....I love love love the Luminara when lit, and even if there is a scent, the ones I've gotten the scent went away after a week.  But even the Luminara look fake when the flame is not lit.

I also love the quality and unique and different designs that Candle Impressions comes in....the battery life is excellent too!!!  I haven't tried the Mirage yet.

The brand I use also depends on the display I'm creating......

I had purchased the CI cardinals, blue jays, and recently went back and purchased the new chickadees......And I have many other CI candles too......

I do like BOTH!!!

Re: Luminara vs Candle Impressions

What bothers me in the last few years is the push to go smaller batteries.  I used to love the fact that I could find CI candles that could have timers for 5 or 10 hours.  I LOVE the 10 hour setting.  I also love the ones that you can program for the number of hours you want to have on.

I would rather spend the extra money for C and D batteries for such candles, whatever brand, as long as they would light that long.  I just love it.

I'm so with you on the programmable timers. It is just a no brainer to me. It allows the customer to choose exactly how long to enjoy the light. Sometimes I want only an hour at the dinner table, sometimes I want it all night long during a storm or when I'll be up and down with a sick child or pet, lighting my way in the darkness.

I want to be able to change and adapt the hours on to suit my needs as they vary. With the other options, it burns whether or not I am there to need or enjoy it. That wastes a lot of batter over time.

Re: Luminara vs Candle Impressions

I have both kinds of flameless candles.  I prefer the candle impressions for value and price and last longer.  Lumeria have alot of C and D bateries, and I like getting a set of 5.

  1. Thank you so so much mominohio. Your review was most helpful. I think one of the most help in a review I've read. I will definitely try the candle impressions. I hadn't been sure about candle impressions since Luminara was quite a bit more. I wasn't sure about quality . Again thank you for taking the time to help others.

Re: Luminara vs Candle Impressions

Luminara candles have a remote control, I'm not sure Candle Impressions does.  The Luminara remote is sometimes sold with the candles; if not you can buy one.
