I recently purchased the Luminara country wax candles. When lit, they throw an unnatural circle of light on the ceiling, surrounded by what looks like a crazy, fast paced  light show. I assume it is from the light escaping from the circle where the moving flame is. I've never had this brand before, so I don't know if this is normal or the candles are defective.

I've always had the Candle Impressions type of candle and the light reflected on the ceiling seems more natural and subtle. I bought these to put in a set of hurricanes but the crazy pattern of light just bugs me, especially when the lights are down. Perhaps they are better suited to a closed lantern.

I would love to get some feedback from those of you who purchase Luminara. Do all Luminara do this or did I get a bad set?

TIA. 😊

Re: Luminara candle question

I have the luminara and the candle impressions two with the flichering flame.  Ilike the candle impressions better.  They are brighter, battery lasts longer and come with the 2 differentsizes.  They are bigger over all abd 29$ and change for2.  The flicker is softer.

Re: Luminara candle question

Yes it's normal - no you didn't get a imperfect candle.  I have jumping light on my family room ceiling as well as my living room ceiling.  It's light coming from the hole just below the 'flame'.  The 'flame' moves back and forth like a real candle light  - so it projects that jumping light to the ceiling.

Re: Luminara candle question

Thanks to you both for your feedback.  I appreciate you taking time to respond. 😊

I'm relieved to know that this is standard for Luminara candles and that mine aren't defective. I think that I will use my Luminara candles in an enclosed lantern and stick to Candle Impressions for my open hurricanes.
