Re: Luminara Heritage Lantern

I'll share my problem with these lanterns.

Cost. They seem expensive to me, when I already have lots of Luminaras that I can put in another lantern.

Style. They have nice clean lines, and lend themselves very well to many decor styles, and I waiver between loving the 'plain and simple lines' and thinking it edges on boring (especially for the price).

When the candle malfunctions, it can be removed, but you have a hole in the bottom to work with/around.

So I keep passing on these, because I have enough candles, can get much more interesting looking lanterns, and at much less cost.

But I won't say I won't be tempted once they air again! Mostly because I can picture them setting off my front porch decor so perfectly, in groups of three, with the largest one being the anchor of the set. Just about choke at what the total cost would be to make that look happen though.

Speaking of Luminara Lanterns, I saw this at BB&B this morning.  I'm not sure if this applies to all stores, but you may want to check them out:

@PeterDM @mallemo  , These Luminara Churchill lanterns are also available on the BB&B website for $29.99 + $6.99 S&H.  Good price even with shipping if you don't have a store near you.  Available in Black or White online as well.  Thanks, Peter, for the info.

@lucymo Thanks!  Keep in mind that if you have a 20% off coupon, it's only $24 plus tax if you buy it in the store!  Amazing deal!

@PeterDM  Thanks for the reminder of the coupon.  I don't have a BB&B store near enough to run out  and shop but sure wish I did because I do like the stores.

@PeterDM, I'm so surprised by that deal.  We talked about it a few days ago in the thread titled SHOPR.  I still haven't gotten one but it is such a good price for anyone who wants or needs one.

I wasn't at all interested in the upcoming lantern TSV at first, and didn't get one when it was the last TSV, but I have become slightly interested in the smallest (new 12" size) if the slate color is actually more like teal.  I like the chunkiness of its shape in the 12" size, at least I like it in the photo I've seen so far.

It will be hard to pay so much more, though, like $15 more after s&h, for the smallest 12" TSV, knowing what a bargain can be had at BB&B.

Re: Luminara Heritage Lantern

@SHOPR  I'm going to go back and check these out again today.  I have some empty spaces in my living room that are looking kind of lonely following the taking down of Christmas decor.  I didn't get my Insider this month, so I'm not sure how I feel about the new TSV, particularly in slate.  My walls are grey, so while that color sounds ideal, I'm concerned about the blue hue people have been talking about.

@PeterDM, The tiny photo that shows the slate choice in the Insider doesn't help much.  To me, the photo in the paper Insider shows the slate lantern to be just a tad lighter and grayer than it appears in the photo below.  I copied this photo from the advance order item itself, and then saved it on Photobucket in order to get it to show here.

This is the 12" smallest lantern.

@SHOPR Hmm.  That actually looks better than I expected.  Thank you for posting the photo. I may have to rethink this...
