Speaking of Lucy, I always enjoyed the warm and cozy Connecticut house...

Lucille Ball had an apartment and lived in New York while rehersing and opening on Briadway in Wildcat in 1960

Funny, the Connecticut house never struck me as cozy; I thought it was rather stark.

That makes sense if they are doing a play or performing to rent an apartment.  I bet they would walk to the theatre.

@stevieb Me, too...but my favorite was the hotel suite they occupied while "Ricky" was making a movie in Hollywood--very mid-century modern!

And then there was the Paris apartment when they were on their European tour... Smiley Happy

Re: Lucy in NYC

[ Edited ]

Great pics! The Mr Wilkes! So elegant. I always thought my circa 1965 Barbie doll looked like her
Very unusual for her to be showing so much. Don't know why--- she had a great body.

Always complained she was too heavy on I Love Lucy (pregnancies).

But on The Lucy Show---she is slim and trim.

On one episode, her and Carol Burnett go to Palm Springs. Lucy's in a one piece, but honestly she could get away wearing a two piece.

Even Carol didn't don a bathing suit on the show. It's a great episode if you catch it!
