A bit too rustic for my taste ... besides, I'd never make it off the sofa and chairs ...

I do love the "idea" of lofts!  When I was based in New Orleans, I mostly lived in apartments in the Garden District, but was very drawn to the loft condos being converted in vast old warehouses downtown.  I love brick walls, quirky mezzanines, arching spaces, vintage architectural elements, and most of all, oversize windows letting in all that light.

A friend and I used to tour them, and I remember wistfully gazing out of the huge windows of one (very like the one in your photo, @lolakimono), and wistfully thinking, what if....

Like lofts for space and openness, but this loft is too dark for me.

Recently moved to a updated coop apt that has an opened floorplan and has light (or white) accents thoughout.  I am LOVING it!

There is no railing for the steep stairs. yikes!

Also, I don't care for the glass divider in the kitchen.

Other than that it's ok.

I love the look. DH and I could live here but I’d like window coverings at night. The boys (cats) would have a heyday on the stairs.

I love this space!  That sofa looks so comfy that I'd spend half my day napping there.  haha

I do like the idea, but not loving the odd light fixture or handing up stairs

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

I've yet to see a picture of a loft that has practical steps and handrails.
