Looking for recommendation for Vellux-like blanket

Our old Vellux blanket is in tatters and needs to be replaced. It's at least 20 years old. I was looking at the reviews of current Vellux/Martex blankets available on Amazon and they're dreadful. Made in China and they fall apart after two washings.

Can anyone recommend something similar that will withstand repeated washings?

DH likes a very light blanket. I have other light blankets like a light down but that's too warm for him. Ditto for some other light blankets I've tried.

Thank you for any recommendations! Woman Happy

Costco is one of my favorite places to buy blankets! But their inventory is seasonal- I'm not sure they have tons of bed linens right now.

Re: Looking for recommendation for Vellux-like blanket

Thank you so much guys! I see that Costco.com has all-cotton blankets for only $35 for a king. I'm going to give one of those a try. I just checked on the laundry and was saddened to see that our Vellux blanket completely deteriorated in the dryer. It's time for something new. Again...thank you!! Woman Very Happy

Re: Looking for recommendation for Vellux-like blanket

I bought a Martha Stewart blanket at Macy's the day after Thanksgivng last year that is like the blankets we all remember. Regular blanket with the satin border near the top. Just like the blankets we all used to have. It cost $15. We've been thrilled with it. I bought another as a backup.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Here is my blanket. It's on close out at Macy's for $14.99 for all sizes. Four colors. Just search Martha Stewart soft fleece blanket.

Same here! Yesterday purchased Better Homes Egyptian cotton blanket from Wal-Mart! Beautiful light silver shade. Nothing compares to cotton. Guess that's why love Isaac's Pima cotton.💁

Wow! Those look great. I checked the Macy's web site and it says they have them in stock at the Macy's near my house. I'm going to have to take a look.

Good idea about buying two to have one as a backup. They're certainly priced nicely.

You're welcome @AuntMame. We've been very pleased with it. I didn't want to spend a gazillion dollars on a blanket and I just wanted a blanket like all blankets used to be. I bought the cream color.
