Lit Pedestal Fluting

I received my green lit pedestals tonight. When I put the batteries in, I immediately noticed that the middle sized one is almost transparent in the middle section such that the bulbs are very noticeable. Then, I realized that both the short and the tall pedestals are fluted in that middle section, but the mid-sized one is not. I just checked my blue set and found the same phenomenon. Are the colors that you have manufactured in that way?

Until I can see these in daylight, I won't know if the color works for me or not, but I couldn't resist lighting them up tonight. I wonder why they didn't bother to flute the mid-sized one.

Hi Marsha,

Sorry I can't be of any help to you on the fluting. I only purchased one set last Xmas in July and sent those back as the large on ate through the batteries. Hope someone else can answer your questions.

I think all the middle sized ones might be non-fluted. I'm basing this on the zoomed in photo of the silver set. Curious to know your final thoughts on the colors when you've had time to study yours.

JPC, thanks for replying.

SHOPR, I think I will be sending the green set back. The tops are not level and I don't love the color. The green is too dark to look good with my pastel spring things and just not quite the right hue to work with my brighter green summer items. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, the blue ones are going to work perfectly for several of my applications, so I will keep those.

Thanks, Marsha. That's too bad about the green set having issues and not being the perfect color.

I'm surprised there aren't more responses to your question. I would have thought more people had jumped on these when they first showed up and would have them in hand by now.

Don't know if a lamp will work. Valerie's lamp is available as is in green H202536. This is that item that never shows up in as is.

I'm a little surprised, too, but maybe posters bought the ones offered last autumn and have already packed them away.

Thank you, Graycatsrule, but I was planning to use the pedestals for holding things other than candles, so the lamp's not quite what I need. I suspect it is the same color of green as the pedestals, too.
