If you have pets on the bed, don't get one of the cotton knits.  Their toenails snag and make a mess of the blanket.  I use a flannel or microfleece sheet as a light blanket.

I need more than just a sheet over me when I sleep. I bought this lightweight blanket from HSN in the green which looks more aqua in person. It's soft, lightweight and dries really fast. I love it. Customer pick. Comes in coral.

I bought it in the blue, think it was around $29. Nice and light but warm if you need more than a sheet.

I am currently sleeping under a vintage 100% acrylic blanket.  It is a lightweight version with an open waffle weave, my favorite kind of acrylic blanket.  I found it at a great price on ebay.  It is one of nearly a dozen vintage, never used, acrylic blankets I have acquired over the last couple of years.

@SilleeMee, I have looked at that blanket a few times...I like it!  Is it slippery?  I have a similar looking blanket that I like but it just won't stay on the bed.
